Complete Birth + Postpartum Care
Premier, continuous support from pregnancy through six weeks postpartum.
This is not simply birth attendance.
It is comprehensive preparation, experienced support through labour, and generous postpartum care—offered as one continuous relationship so you are not piecing together support as you go.
From the time we begin working together, you have someone who knows your story, understands what matters to you, and is available to help you navigate the questions, decisions, unexpected turns, and early realities of life with a new baby.
Birth + Postpartum Doula · Calgary, Alberta
Thoughtful preparation before birth
We’ll meet two to three times during pregnancy to prepare for both birth and postpartum.
Together, we’ll talk through:
Your hopes, concerns, and previous experiences
Birth preferences and priorities
Comfort measures, movement, and positioning
Induction, interventions, and unexpected changes
How to stay informed and involved in your care
Your partner’s role and how they can support you
Breastfeeding, pumping, and feeding preparation
Postpartum recovery and what support may look like at home
Between visits, you’ll have ongoing phone, text, and email support.
That might mean talking through a recommendation from your care provider, helping you prepare questions for an appointment, sorting through conflicting information, discussing a change in your pregnancy, or simply offering reassurance when something is sitting heavily on your mind.
You do not have to save everything for the next visit.
“Choosing Jayne as our doula was a transformative experience. Her absolute superpower is her deeply inclusive nature—she creates an incredibly safe, welcoming space for families from all walks of life, honoring exactly who you are without judgment.”
— Suzanne D., 2019
Experienced support through labour and birth
I go on call at 37 weeks and will join you when you feel ready for support.
I’ll stay with you through labour, birth, and the early postpartum hours until you are settled and resting with your baby.
Support may include:
Comfort measures, movement, and positioning
Calm, continuous emotional support
Clear information as decisions arise
Help understanding your options and asking questions
Support when plans change
Practical guidance for your partner
A steady, grounding presence when things feel intense
After seven years of doula work and four very different births of my own, I know that birth can unfold beautifully and still look nothing like the plan.
I’m not there to steer you toward a particular kind of birth.
My role is to help you feel informed, respected, and supported in the birth that is actually happening.
“Jayne exudes the most comforting ‘mama bear’ energy—her care is deeply compassionate, and her expertise is evident in everything she does.”
— Madison M., 2020, 2022, and 2026
Generous care after birth
My support continues through the first six weeks postpartum.
This is where many families realize how much care they actually need.
You are healing, feeding, learning your baby, adjusting to interrupted sleep, and giving an enormous amount of yourself.
I don’t believe mothers are meant to do that depleted.
Postpartum support may include:
Breastfeeding support and troubleshooting
Pumping support
Guidance as your body recovers
Newborn care and reassurance
Questions about feeding, sleep, recovery, and what is normal
Ongoing phone, text, and email support
Referrals when additional medical, lactation, or specialist care is needed
Nourishing meals, broths, teas, and snacks
Sometimes you need information. Sometimes you need reassurance. Sometimes you need someone to notice that you haven’t eaten.
And sometimes you need a warm meal, a clear answer, and one less thing to carry.
“While my baby was in the NICU, Jayne was there with me: helping me learn to pump, providing emotional support, making incredibly nourishing meals, and even coming over one day simply to do the dishes so I could sit and rest.”
— Emily B., 2022 and 2024

One relationship.
One standard of care.
Support from pregnancy through six weeks postpartum.
Testimonials
One relationship, not a collection of add-ons
I don’t believe exceptional care should feel transactional.
I don’t want you wondering whether a question is worth sending, whether you have used too much of my time, or whether you need to purchase another hour of support.
Some weeks you may need very little.
Other weeks you may need much more.
That is the nature of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.
So rather than dividing your care into separate services and hourly add-ons, I offer one complete experience from pregnancy through six weeks postpartum.
You should be able to reach out when you need support without rationing it.
The care surrounding a mother should be generous enough to meet what this season asks of her.
If this feels like the kind of care you’ve been looking for, I’d love to hear from you. Fill out the form below to book a complimentary, no-obligation consultation, and we can talk about your birth, your hopes, and what support might look like for you. I’ll be in touch soon.
