Birth & Postpartum Support

I believe in supporting women and their families fully—from the moment you hire me through the early weeks of postpartum, when healing is well underway and your feeding journey is becoming established.

From the time your contract is signed through six weeks after your baby’s birth, I am available by phone, text, or email to answer questions, offer guidance, and help you feel supported through the unknowns.

Prenatal Support

During our time together before birth, we will meet 2–3 times to prepare for your birth and postpartum experience. Together, we will:

    •    Talk through your pregnancy, hopes, and concerns

    •    Explore your birth preferences and vision

    •    Prepare for the unexpected and discuss your options should your plans change

    •    Create a plan for your postpartum healing and support

    •    Prepare for your feeding journey, including breastfeeding and pumping

Labour & Birth Support

When labour begins, I will come to you when you feel you need support and remain with you through labour, birth, and the early postpartum hours until you are settled and resting with your baby.

During labour, I will:

    •   Go on call at 37 weeks gestation

    •    Provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support

    •    Help your partner feel confident and involved within their comfort zone

    •    Offer comfort measures, positioning, movement, and other hands-on support

    •    Help you stay connected to your preferences while remaining flexible when circumstances change

    •    Remind you of your options and help you ask questions when your birth takes an unexpected turn

    •    Support you in making informed decisions that feel right for you and your family

Postpartum Support

My support continues beyond the birth. This is a time that women need to rest and heal and it is so important that you have the support to be able to do so. In the early weeks, I am here to help you feel cared for as you recover, learn your baby, and settle into your new rhythm.

Postpartum support may include:

    •    Breastfeeding support and troubleshooting

    •    Pumping support

    •    Guidance and reassurance as you navigate your healing body

    •    Answering questions about your newborn and those early days

    •    Connecting you with additional resources and professionals when more support is needed

    •    Nourishing meals, broths, teas, and snacks to help care for you while you care for your baby**

This is offered as one complete package as I believe wholeheartedly that every woman deserves this level of care in each perinatal journey.
